Tending for Relatives
Caring for and supporting relatives can present employees and students with a range of organisational and personal challenges. The FamilienService provides confidential advice on how to combine care responsibilities – including arranging care from a distance – with work, research or studies. (For students and academic staff, this counselling service is funded through the Professorinnenprogramm 2030.)
Our counselling covers a range of topics, including support services available within and outside the University, legal provisions, and measures to support the compatibility of care responsibilities with work and studies, such as flexible working arrangements, mobile working and reasonable adjustments for students. Together, we will discuss your individual situation and identify possible ways forward. Where appropriate, we can also refer you to specialist advice and counselling services.
Counselling is available in person, by telephone or via video conference.
