Dynamics of change in urban and rural areas
Global urbanization processes are one of the central challenges of our time. A new interdisciplinary joint project at the Universities of Kassel and Göttingen is dedicated to the diverse phenomena that arise from the mutual interpenetration of urban and rural spaces and lead to very specific logics and dynamics of change.

research funding
The faculty subsidizes applications for funding for doctoral studies and the post-doctoral phase, as well as applications for funding for internationalization. The Research Commission decides on the applications received.

Dissertation defense and habilitation dates
Approximately 10 students complete their doctorates at the Faculty of Social Sciences each year, and 1-2 people obtain their habilitation. The dates of public university disputations and lectures can be found here.
